The dream home is always the place to be. Lavishly furnished and decorated with all the goodies you love. But when it starts to get creepy is that really still the dream home or just some haunted house? As horrible as this sounds, and it is horrible; this happened to a couple in New Jersey.

Some years back, in 2014, a happy couple just bought their perfect dreamy home in Westfield located in New Jersey. This was just right for Maria and Derek Boaddus who had three beautiful children.

The 657 Boulevard was a stunning six bedroom house. The happy family were very excited to move in. Although, the event of things began to change. As they brought the contractors who were preparing the house for their audacious arrival, very creepy things had started to happen. These sudden events had caused a huge discomfort for the family of five to enjoy their new home. Roughly, the house cost a whooping 1.3 million dollars which is equivalent to about 1 million pounds.

During an interview with the The Cut, Derek had said the house was bought after celebrating his 40th birthday. He was the senior vice president of an insurance company. Basically, he had that money to spend. However, the creepy letters began appearing in June. On one fateful night, just after the negotiations were closed between Derek and the contractors, he discovered a letter arrived in the mail. The handwriting was very clunky and had written on it, “To The New Owner”.

Inside that envelope contained a terrifying note which started the spree of terror on the Boaddus family. The first letter read, “Dearest new neighbor at 657 Boulevard, allow me to welcome you to the neighborhood”. This wasn’t creepy enough, the letter continued, “657 Boulevard has been the subject of my family for decades now and as it approaches its 110th birthday, I have been put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming.” It didn’t stop there, “My grandfather watched the house in the 1920s and my father watched the house in the 1960s. Now it’s my turn. Do you know the history of this house? Do you know what lies within these walls of 657 Boulevard? Why are you here? I will find out”.  This wasn’t the end of it.

The mysterious writer had proceeded to reveal in the letters that he or she had already begun watching the house. Apparently, he knew a huge amount of details of what went on in the home. The writer continued, “ I see you have flooded the house with contractors so that you can destroy the house. Tsk, tsk, tsk…bad move. You don’t want to make 657 Boulevard unhappy.” This was downright creepy. Asides this, the writer also mentioned the kid’s names asking if they had filled “the house with young blood as requested?”. The ghost writer went on to say, “once I know their names, I would call them to me”. No clue was seen on the letter. It had written at the end, signed by “The Watcher”. The watcher was terrifying these lives saying he could be anywhere.

Many years later, more letters were sent addressing them by name. It got even scarier. Derek called the police but nothing could really be done as there was no trace to this perpetrator.  Although, more threats came in and Derek couldn’t find a buyer, he rented the house to tenants. This changed their lives as they became so terrified that they would always watch their backs. Till this day, they have no idea of who did this to them and ruined the luxury of building a home in 657 Boulevard.
